Security & Safety at Sea

Nautical Enterprise has been involved with safety at sea for over 10 years through EU projects.

Work that Nautical Enterprise was involved with, such the FP6 project MarNIS, has led to the development of SafeSeaNet, a European Platform for Maritime Data Exchange between Member States’ maritime authorities.

The areas address by SafeSeaNet are the transportation of goods with special attention paid to dangerous or polluting, inspection of ships and traffic surveillance. A 3 minute video clip explains the goals of SafeSeaNet.

Security at sea is becoming ever more prevalent at EU level, as the community seeks to co-ordinate multi-faceted teams that deal with and respond to security threats. Nautical Enterprise is involved in the FP7 project, SUPPORT, where our main role will be to lead the development of Port Security Knowledge Management tools and to lead the definition of strategies for information exchange.
