Transport Emissions Analysis

Emission modelling and supporting evidence based policy development is a corner stone of Nautical Enterprises' success.

Modelling the long term consequences of proposed and impending policy changes has allowed NECL to advise policy originators and those affected by transport policies on what verifiable actions should be taken.

Emissions modelling, including allowing for emission abatement technology such as scrubbers has ensured NECL is answering the current and foreseeable needs of ship owners and operators.

TOOLS:
Nautical Enterprise is developing an online decision support system that is capable modelling the cost, schedules and environmental impact of cargo movements in Europe. This web-based system can model existing and proposed transportation scenarios across multiple modes. Through the use of the tool the user is given the ability to compute D2D costs, times and emissions of intermodal transport services in additional to the ability to compare alternative transport services. This can result in the improvement of transport services, cost savings for the operator/freight forwarder by highlighting inefficiencies in the network
