Current vacancies

At Nautical Enterprise we develop software tools to increase the effectiveness of our consultancy and we are seeking 2 Student/Graduate Developers to join the team.

Nautical Enterprise will provide induction for the student or graduate taking up software development related roles within the organisation. We follow an Agile software development methodology and students will be trained and indoctrinated into this process. Tool sets that we employ include Google Web Toolkit, Hibernate, PostGres, Java, Eclipse. We emphasise teamwork, ingenuity and we encourage and foster creative thinking through our work environment.

To happily fit into the Nautical Enterprise culture you will be an independent thinker that loves to discuss ideas and solve problems. You shall have the ability and the interest to work independently and you will be supported to take ownership of your own work. You should be comfortable explaining your ideas, both verbally and on paper. Travel to cities throughout Europe is a necessary part of the interaction with our research colleagues.

Software Developer

Nautical Enterprise is developing a software product suite that enables strategic decision making in freight transport and is related to our eBusiness research projects. As software developer you will be directly involved in the entire software development lifecycle of the product suite. You will take ownership of the specification, development and testing of features in compliance with our Agile software development methodology.

Database Analyst / Developer

Nautical Enterprise is involved with research on the cutting edge of security of transport throughout Europe and the world. We are concerned with port security and the security of containers that pass through ports. As a database analyst you will gather and analyse data related to security threats in a port. You will have a keen interest in the power of data mining and data visualisation. You will be methodical and a clear thinker that is creative in your approach to problem solving. You will work as part of a local and international team that will support the development of your skills and knowledge in this important area.
